Michelle Rosado

Out of Tower II
and Back Again
Michelle Rosado heard the roar of an airplane engine as she stood in her office on the 95th floor of Tower II on September 11, 2001, a day seared into the memories of most Americans. The window glass in her office shattered. She didn't know what had happened, but she knew that she had to get out. Michelle tells an intriguing story of reaching ground level and hearing the "All clear," that is was safe to go back to her office. At that moment she made a choice that saved her life.

John Register

Hurdling Over Obstacles

Can you imagine competing in a sporting event and having your leg end up three feet ahead of you? Would you have the presence of mind to make light of it? John Register saw it happen to an amputee who was wearing a prosthesis, and he was inspired to compete in track and field events wearing an artificial leg, a prosthesis. John was in the US Army, running hurdles in 1994 when he injured his knee so badly that his leg had to be amputated. A veteran of Desert Shield and Desert Storm, John talks about that winning feeling, being on top of the game. And he talks about near despair when he can't reach his child on a swing set. He emphasizes the importance of faith, family, and friendships in helping us get over obstacles. John won the Silver Medal in the Paralympics long jump in 2000 and set a world record six years after his leg was amputated!

to Salvation
-- Hip Hop

Frankie G made a wrong turn in his life. At an early age, before his teen years, he was drinking and doing drugs. Things got worse and he was incarcerated without possibility of parole for four years at age 14. When he was released, Frankie G moved to Mo-Town and learned hip-hop. That led him to a turning point. He started writing songs, then playing and singing them. Later he was introduced to the Christian way of life. He continued hip-hop, but let go of the violent and vulgar lyrics. Now he is a very popular performer!
